Manchester United are reportedly ready to turn to Wolfsburg midfielder Julian Draxler if they fail to land first-choice target Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Borussia Dortmund are thought to be resigned to losing star man Mkhitaryan to the Red Devils this summer, although no bid has yet been accepted.
According to The Mirror, new boss Jose Mourinho is also a big fan of Draxler - who only joined Wolfsburg from Schalke 04 last year - and will step up interest in the Germany international should other targets slip away.
United would likely have to splash out around £38m to sign Draxler - £8m more than the reported valuation set for Mkhitaryan who is entering the final stages of his Dortmund contract.
Draxler recently admitted that he was close to joining Juventus last summer, but instead opted for Wolfsburg after talks broke down with the Italian giants at the last hurdle.
