Manchester United will approach Paris Saint-Germain to sign Edinson Cavani in the summer if they lose Wayne Rooney, according to a report.
Recent reports have suggested that the England international forward could leave the Red Devils at the end of the season if they fail to finish in the top four of the Premier League.
The Sunday People now claims that United will try to lure Cavani to Old Trafford if they fail to convince Rooney to continue to ply his trade in the red half of Manchester.
It has been reported that Uruguayan striker Cavani, who joined PSG from Napoli last summer, is disappointed with the standard of Ligue 1 and the lack of passion in French football.
However, it is believed that United would have to pay PSG at least £55m to sign the 26-year-old.
