Manchester United have set their sights on Inter Milan centre-back Andrea Ranocchia, according to a report.
The 25-year-old is seen as a long-term replacement for England international Rio Ferdinand, who struggled with injury once again during the Red Devils' title-winning campaign.
Ranocchia established himself in the Nerazzurri's first team this season, making 32 appearances in a tough year for Andrea Stramaccioni's men, who finished sixth in Serie A.
According to Tuttosport, new United manager David Moyes will make a move for the Italian international, who made his debut for the Azzurri in a friendly against Romania in 2010, by the end of the week.
