Roma have reportedly entered the race to sign Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian, but the Italian side are only interested in a temporary move for the full-back.
The Mirror reports that Darmian has been told by United boss Jose Mourinho that he can leave Old Trafford, alerting Roma to a potential move.
Fellow Serie A sides AC Milan and Juventus are also allegedly keen on the Italian, but neither outfit has registered a bid for the 28-year-old.
The newspaper also claims that, should Roma take the full-back on loan, the club will look to make the deal permanent in the summer, with United seeking at least £17m for his signature.
Darmian, who has been capped 36 times by his national team, moved to Manchester in 2015 following spells in the Italian top flight with AC Milan, Palermo and Torino.
