Former Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo has urged Edinson Cavani to link up with him at Boca Juniors this summer.
Cavani's future is a major talking point at this moment in time, with the 34-year-old out of contract at Old Trafford in the summer, and it remains to be seen if United will trigger the one-year extension option in his contract.
Cavani has been strongly linked with a return to South America with Boca Juniors, and Rojo - who departed Man United for the Argentinian giants earlier this year - has revealed that he has been in contact with his former teammate over a move to the club.
Speaking to reporters, Rojo said: "Of course and apart from that he wants it, which is important. When I told him I had the possibility of signing for Boca, he told me about his situation.
"He said he had spoken with the club's vice-president Roman Riquelme and he really liked the option and it would interest him in the future. I'm no-one to say if he's going to come or not, that's his choice, he has to take that decision with his family.
"I spoke with him. I played a little with him. We were together for four or five months. He is a great professional and if he reaches Argentine football, he would be a great star that would do Argentine football good."
Cavani boasts six goals and two assists from 19 Premier League appearances this term, and United have supposedly identified Paris Saint-Germain's Mauro Icardi as an ideal replacement if the veteran does depart at the end of the campaign. body check tags ::
