Roma have reportedly opened talks with the agent of Nemanja Matic to discuss a move for the Manchester United midfielder this summer.
The Serbian recently announced that he would be leaving the Red Devils at the end of the campaign, five years after arriving from Chelsea.
The 33-year-old has made 28 appearances for Man United this season and has featured in each of their last five league matches, including the full 90 minutes against Liverpool on Tuesday evening.
However, the midfielder has not been first choice when the club have a full squad available, and he will be on the move ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.
According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Roma are keen to sign the Serbian and have entered into talks with his agent Vlado Lemic to discuss a move to Italy.
Schira claims that Roma boss Jose Mourinho, who managed Matic at Chelsea and Man United, 'loves' the experienced midfielder and is keen on another reunion.
An official meeting between the two parties is expected to take place 'soon'.
