Roma are reportedly preparing to make a new offer for Manchester United centre-back Chris Smalling.
The Englishman impressed on loan at the Italian club last season and has been consistently linked with a return to Rome over the last few weeks.
Smalling is back with United but is currently training away from the first team and has not been involved in a competitive match for the Red Devils during the 2020-21 campaign.
Roma have thus far been unable to reach an agreement with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, but according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, a new bid will arrive from the Italian giants in the next two days.
The 30-year-old, who has a contract at Old Trafford until June 2022, made 37 appearances for I Giallorossi last term, contributing three goals and two assists in the process.
Inter Milan have also recently been credited with an interest in the Premier League title winner.
