Manchester United outcast Sergio Romero could reportedly be set to see out his contract with the Red Devils after a move to MLS side Inter Miami fell through.
The Argentine, who was linked with a move away in the summer, appears to have played his final game for the 20-time English champions after being left out of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Premier League and Champions League squads.
With Romero now fourth choice behind David de Gea, Dean Henderson and Lee Grant, the 33-year-old was understood to be hopeful of securing a move to the MLS with David Beckham's Inter Miami.
However, according to the Daily Mail, talks with the North American outfit went nowhere and Romero is now facing the prospect of another season at Old Trafford, with his current deal set to expire in 2021.
Romero could still leave the club in the January transfer window, though, and the 33-year-old is allegedly hopeful that the Red Devils will agree to terminate his contract in order to allow him to depart sooner.
The former Sampdoria man has turned out 61 times for United in all competitions, but has not made a top-flight appearance since the 2017-18 season.
