Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly prepared to take a significant pay cut in order to force a move away from Old Trafford to a club competing in the Champions League.
The 37-year-old's future with the Red Devils is believed to be uncertain as the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has allegedly requested to leave the club this summer.
Man United endured a disappointing 2021-22 campaign and were only able to finish sixth in the Premier League, subsequently qualifying for the Europa League as opposed to the Champions League.
It is thought that Ronaldo – who has recently missed the club's last two training sessions – now feels that he is unable to fulfil his ambitions at Old Trafford and is keen to move on, as he bids to continue playing at the highest level and win the Champions League once again before hanging up his boots.
According to the Independent, the forward is willing to take a considerable pay cut in order to seal a move to a Champions League club this summer, although potential suitors may still struggle to stump up a reasonable contract offer.
The report adds that Ronaldo is currently earning around over £500,000 per week at United, but some sources claim that he is actually pocketing over £700,000 per week.
Chelsea have recently been linked with the Portuguese legend, although United are against the prospect of selling him to another Premier League rival, while Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Sporting Lisbon have also been credited with an interest. body check tags ::
