Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy prefers a move to Tottenham Hotspur over Manchester United, according to a report.

The 27-year-old has been an unexpected success story in the Bundesliga since his permanent exit from Rennes this summer, already notching up a staggering 17 goals in 14 top-flight games this term.

Guirassy only trails 21-goal Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane in the German top flight's Golden Boot race, and he is six clear of RB Leipzig's Lois Openda in third place.

The former Koln man also has two hat-tricks to his name from clashes with Mainz 05 and Wolfsburg, and he registered in Stuttgart's most recent win, a 3-0 beating of Augsburg on Wednesday.

Guirassy's contract with the Bundesliga outfit still has another three years left to run, but the Guinea international is unsurprisingly being tipped to make a swift exit from Stuttgart as Champions League-chasing clubs circle.

All of Man United, Newcastle United and Borussia Dortmund are said to have taken a liking to the striker, who has allegedly rejected the chance to sign a new-and-improved contract at Stuttgart.

Dortmund director Sebastian Kehl has denied that his side are considering a move for Guirassy, though, boosting Premier League clubs' chances of signing him in the 2024 January or summer windows.

According to The Sun, if Guirassy is to swap the Bundesliga for British shores next year, the 27-year-old is eyeing a move to Tottenham, who are believed to be open to adding a new marksman to their ranks in the coming months.

Following the departure of Kane, Spurs only brought in Alejo Veliz as a like-for-like replacement, and Ange Postecoglou has alternated between Son Heung-min and Richarlison as his focal point thus far this season.

After Son's impressive exploits during the earlier stages of the new term, Richarlison has started to find his feet in North London following a troubled start to life with Spurs and scored for the third Premier League game running against old club Everton on Saturday.

Nevertheless, Spurs could be in the market for a fresh face in their attack next year and have also been linked with Feyenoord's Santiago Gimenez, but competition for the Mexican will be stiff.

Furthermore, the Lilywhites will be prioritising a new defender in the January market following Micky van de Ven's injury, while a new winger could also arrive due to Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic's knee issues.

While Spurs marched to their third successive Premier League win on Saturday, Manchester United slumped to an eighth top-flight defeat of the new term in a 2-0 loss to West Ham United at the London Stadium.

The fixture marked a fourth game in a row without a goal for Erik ten Hag's side, while £72m summer signing Rasmus Hojlund is yet to score in 14 top-flight games for the Red Devils.

Hojlund was taken off with just 57 minutes gone on Saturday lunchtime, but Ten Hag confirmed that illness played a part in the Dane's early withdrawal. body check tags ::
