RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko has revealed why he opted to join the German club instead of Manchester United.
Sesko was first linked with a move to the Red Devils in 2017, before he signed for Red Bull Salzburg from NK Domzale.
Man United were also interested in signing Sesko in 2022, but he ultimately completed a move to Salzburg's sister club Leipzig.
Sesko remained at the Austrian club for the 2022-23 campaign, before he joined up with Marco Rose's side in the summer.
The Slovenia international has now revealed why he decided to join the Bundesliga instead of the 20-time English champions.
"The thing is, I wasn't really involved in these kinds of conversations," Sesko told Transfermarkt. "But I think it was better to come here.
"It was very important for me to go to a place that plays a similar style of football. I already knew what I had to do and didn't have to go through a whole learning process again."
The striker has made an immediate impact at the German club, scoring three goals in six matches across all competitions.
Sesko has also become a key player of his national side, having registered seven goals in 22 international appearances.
As the 22-year-old continues to go from strength to strength, he has not ruled out the possibility of completing a move to the Premier League in the future.
"It would be nice to play there," the Slovenian striker added. "But first of all, let's focus on the right now, and we'll see later."
Leipzig will be in a strong position should Sesko attract any serious interest, with the player under contract until the summer of 2028.
Having made all six of his appearances from the bench, Sesko could be handed his first Leipzig start in Wednesday's DFB-Pokal meeting with Wehen Wiesbaden. body check tags ::
