Manchester United are reportedly prepared to offer Joshua Zirkzee in a player-plus-cash bid for Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres.
The Red Devils are set to begin a new era after recently appointing Ruben Amorim as Erik ten Hag's replacement.
After leaving his role as Sporting boss, Amorim is set to take charge of his first Man United training session on Monday.
Amorim will look to work his magic with Man United's current squad, but he may look to bring his own players into the club in 2025.
Gyokeres has been one of those linked with a potential move to Old Trafford after enjoying significant success under Amorim at Sporting.
Man United willing to offer Zirkzee in Gyokeres swap deal
After joining Sporting from Coventry City in the summer of 2023, Gyokeres went on to score 43 goals in 50 competitive appearances during his first season in Portugal.
The Sweden international has continued to impress in the current campaign, having racked up 23 goals in 18 matches in all competitions.
With Man United keen to sign Gyokeres, the Daily Briefing are reporting that they are considering whether to make a player-plus-cash offer for the 26-year-old.
The report suggests that Zirkzee could be offered in a potential deal, having struggled to find his best form since joining the club in the summer.
Zirkzee heading towards exit door
It recently reported that Amorim is open to allowing Zirkzee to leave on a loan deal when the transfer window opens in January.
The Netherlands international has been linked with a move to Juventus despite only leaving Italy for the Premier League in the summer.
Zirkzee scored on his Premier League debut against Fulham after joining Man United from Bologna for a reported £36.5m.
However, the 23-year-old has been unable to add to that solitary goal in any of his other 16 competitive appearances for the Red Devils.
Zirkzee has had to settle for a substitute role in each of his last five Premier League appearances, with the Dutchman behind Rasmus Hojlund in the Man United pecking order.
As a result of his underwhelming form, Zirkzee has been linked with a potential departure in 2025, whether that be a permanent switch or a loan move in a bid to regain some much-needed confidence.
