Heerenveen midfielder Daley Sinkgraven is poised to reject a move to the Premier League in order to remain in the Eredivisie, with Ajax his preferred destination.
The 19-year-old is reportedly on Liverpool and Manchester United's radar, with Spanish giants Barcelona also said to be interested.
However, he would rather take the next step in his career while staying in the Netherlands and has Ajax in his sights.
Sinkgraven is quoted by the Daily Star as saying: "I see it is a compliment that such big clubs are interested.
"I would first prefer to play at the top of the Netherlands. I think it is too soon to move to a foreign country. Ajax would be a nice step."
Sinkgraven has been capped at under-21 level by Holland, but has not yet been called up to the senior team.
