Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly blocked a late move seeing midfielder Donny van de Beek move on loan to Everton.

Van de Beek, who arrived at Old Trafford from Ajax in 2020, was said to be keen for a move away from Manchester on loan, with his agent pushing for a late move to Everton.

Such a request comes after the Dutch international made 19 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils last season, with the 24-year-old keen to seek more game time.

According to The Mirror, Solskjaer has snubbed a loan move that would see the midfielder move to Merseyside and has assured the former Ajax man that he has an important role to play at Old Trafford.

Due to a long spell out through injury, Van de Beek missed the Netherlands' Euro 2020 campaign and is yet to make a matchday squad for Manchester United this season.
