Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane has reportedly decided that Manchester United is his preferred destination this summer, despite interest from Bayern Munich.
Spurs' all-time record goalscorer netted 30 Premier League goals in 38 matches in the 2022-23 season - a tally which could only be bested by Manchester City's Erling Haaland.
Last term was also a momentous one for Kane on the international stage, as a penalty against Italy in March during European Championship qualifying meant that he surpassed Wayne Rooney's goalscoring record for the Three Lions.
The 29-year-old has netted 280 goals in 435 appearances for the North Londoners since making his debut in June 2011, with the striker heading into his 12th full season in the first team.
According to Football Insider, Kane would prefer a move to Manchester United over Bayern Munich in this transfer window, despite serious interest from the Bundesliga champions.
Thomas Tuchel guided the Bavarians to another domestic crown last term, once again fending off the challenge of Borussia Dortmund to lift the league title in Germany.
However, Bayern were pushed right to the final day by Dortmund, only finishing ahead of Edin Terzic's men on goal difference after they failed to beat Mainz in their closing match.
Former Chelsea boss Tuchel is said to be a huge admirer of Kane and views the Englishman as someone who can fill the boots of Robert Lewandowski who departed for Barcelona in the summer of 2022.
With less than a year left on his current terms in North London, the Spurs ownership have reportedly informed chairman Daniel Levy that he must sell their star striker in this window if he does agree to a new contract.
Kane currently earns around £200,000 per week at Tottenham, and it is understood that he has been offered close to £400,000 per week and a post-playing position at the club once he retires.
Man United are believed to have made the Spurs talisman their priority signing at the beginning of the summer window, however Levy's firm stance means that Erik ten Hag's men have had to work on bringing in alternative players.
Eintracht Frankfurt's Randal Kolo Muani is understood to be one of those options, however the Mancunians would face competition from Spurs for the Frenchman if Kane was sold to Bayern Munich.
New Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou has been unable to utilise Kane as much as he would have intended so far this summer after friendly matches against Leicester City and Roma were cancelled, however the Lilywhites will be back in action against Lion City Sailors on Wednesday. body check tags ::
