Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly submitted an offer to Italian midfielder Andrea Pirlo.
The 34-year-old will be a free agent next summer when his contract with Serie A champions Juventus is due to expire.
That has alerted Spurs head coach Andre Villas-Boas, who is keen to recruit the veteran ahead of other potential suitors, according to Italian publication Calcio Mercato.
The report went on to claim that Spurs are keen to tie up the deal, which would run for three years, in January, although their Premier League rivals Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are said to be monitoring the situation.
