Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly set his sights on moves for Luke Shaw and Ross Barkley during the January transfer window.
Spurs are one of a number of top teams in the Premier League to struggle for consistency this season and the North Londoners currently sit in fifth place in the standings, 21 points adrift of leaders Manchester City.
According to the Sunday Express, Pochettino wants to boost his side's chances of moving into the top four by adding Manchester United left-back Shaw and Everton midfielder Barkley to his squad at the start of 2018.
The Argentine has previously worked with Shaw at Southampton, and United are allegedly prepared to sell the England international to bring in a new player for the left side of defence.
Barkley is yet to make an appearance this season due to a hamstring injury, but the playmaker is closing in on a return to the first team after featuring in a behind-closed-doors fixture.
The 24-year-old also has just six months remaining on his contract, leading to the likelihood of a number of clubs making offers for his signature next month.
