Tottenham Hotspur have targeted Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone as back-up to Hugo Lloris, according to a report.
The 25-year-old hinted earlier this month that he will consider quitting Old Trafford when his contract expires at the end of the campaign.
Johnstone has performed well in the second tier with Aston Villa this season and is wanted by the Villans on a permanent basis, but The Sun suggests that competition will be provided by Tottenham.
United are understood to still have the option of extending the Englishman's contract by a further 12 months, however, which they may take up before then offloading him for a fee.
Michel Vorm is the Lilywhites' current second-choice keeper, being restricted to 10 starts in all competitions this term - only one of which has come in the Premier League.
