Raheem Sterling will be fully dedicated to Chelsea if he remains at the club beyond the transfer window, even if it means training with the Under-23s, according to a report.
The Blues are now facing the likelihood that several unwanted players may still be at the club after the deadline, which could put them in a challenging position.
Among the players who have been exiled from the starting team are Trevoh Chalobah, Ben Chilwell, David Datro Fofana and Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Conor Gallagher was also made aware that he would be surplus to requirements this season before securing a move to Atletico Madrid.
While Sterling was linked with several Premier League clubs, including the likes of Manchester United, Aston Villa and Arsenal, time is quickly running out for the 29-year-old to find a move away from Stamford Bridge.
Sterling to remain fully committed to Chelsea
According to Sky Sports, Sterling will remain fully committed to the Blues if he does not secure a move away from Stamford Bridge in the closing hours of the transfer window.
This comes despite Enzo Maresca acknowledging that there will be no way back for him, even if he remains at the club after Friday's deadline.
Speaking ahead of Chelsea's game against Servette on Thursday, the Chelsea boss said: "We're going to see. Because I prefer to be honest with the player, with Raheem, I've been exactly the same.
"The ones who are not involved, they are all players who are not going to be involved and they don't get any minutes in case they stay.
"I don't know what happens, when the window closes. We will see who is here and who is not here. The only thing I can say is the ones who are going to get minutes are the ones who I think can help us. The rest, they are going to go," Maresca said.
Sterling still has two years remaining on his contract with Chsela and currently earns in the region of £300,000 per week.
Chilwell closing in on Chelsea exit
While it seems that Sterling may not get the move he hopes for, another of Chelsea's outcasts is reportedly closing in on a deal to leave Stamford Bridge in the coming hours.
Reports today suggest that Ben Chilwell is in advanced talks to join Brentford on loan until the end of the season.
The England international has fallen behind Marc Cucurella in Maresca's pecking order, and like Sterling, has been told that he can leave West London before the transfer deadline.
Chilwell arrived at Chelsea in a deal worth around £50m from Leicester City and his current contract with the Blues runs until 2027. body check tags ::
