Real Madrid are reportedly not considering selling Aurelien Tchouameni during next summer's transfer window despite the recent speculation surrounding the central midfielder.
Tchouameni made the move to Bernabeu from Monaco in July 2022, and he has represented the Spanish and European champions on 99 occasions in all competitions, scoring three goals and registering five assists in the process.
The 24-year-old has again been a vital player for Real Madrid this season, featuring on 11 occasions in all competitions, and he has another four years left to run on his contract in the Spanish capital.
Liverpool continue to be heavily linked with the midfielder, while Manchester United are said to be long-term admirers.
However, according to journalist Matteo Moretto, suggestions that Real Madrid could sell the France international are wide of the mark, while Tchouameni is also not interested in a departure.
Real Madrid 'not looking to sell Tchouameni'
"Honestly what I think is that Aurelien Tchouameni is only thinking about Real Madrid, and has nothing else on his mind at the moment, he's not thinking about leaving," Moretto told Football Espana.
"Perhaps the rumours about Liverpool are emerging because they tried to sign him before he went to Real Madrid, and they were very interested in him, but I don't see any foundation in these rumours.
"In addition, Tchouameni is completely integrated in the world of Real Madrid, and capable of playing various different roles. I have not received any information that Los Blancos would allow him to leave.
"Tchouameni is a key part of the Real Madrid project, they are happy with him, and Carlo Ancelotti sees him as key too. During a season there are always ups and downs, but the criticism he has received from local press does not add up to Real Madrid wanting to sell him."
Tchouameni's versatility makes him invaluable for Real Madrid
Tchouameni is a favourite of Real Madrid boss Ancelotti, and the fact that he can also operate in the middle of the defence makes him such an important part of the squad at Bernabeu.
Los Blancos are short of centre-back options, and Tchouameni has impressed in that area whenever called upon, while he has established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in world football.
Real Madrid have been far from their best in the early stages of this season, but Tchouameni has again been a solid performer, contributing to an unbeaten start to the La Liga campaign.
Liverpool are long-term admirers of the midfielder, having been linked with him during his time at Monaco, but it does appear that Arne Slot's side will be forced to look elsewhere in their pursuit of an anchorman. body check tags ::
