Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag is confident that Marcus Rashford will sign a new contract with the club in the near future.
The 25-year-old has been in excellent form for the Red Devils during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring 30 goals and registering 11 assists in 54 appearances in all competitions.
Rashford netted his 17th Premier League goal of the campaign against Chelsea on Thursday, with Man United securing a top-four position in the table courtesy of their 4-1 success over the Blues.
There remains uncertainty surrounding the England international's future, though, as his contract is due to expire next summer, which has led to a host of speculation surrounding his long-term position at the club.
There have been claims that Rashford wants to become the highest-paid player at Old Trafford in order to commit his future to the club.
Ten Hag has no concerns over potentially losing the club's academy product, though, with the Dutchman fully expecting the team's leading goalscorer to pen a new deal.
"I expect Marcus Rashford to renew," Ten Hag told Viaplay. "He wants it. Manchester United wants it. He is a child of this club, so I assume this will happen."
Rashford has become just the 12th player to score 30 goals for Man United in a single season, and the first since Robin van Persie in Sir Alex Ferguson's final campaign as head coach.
"I am happy that finally a player of Manchester United is able to score 30 goals again. But next year the numbers have to be higher," Ten Hag added.
Rashford wrote on Instagram after the Chelsea clash: "I want to thank the club and my teammates for helping make this personal achievement possible.
"After last season, when I struggled for form and fitness, I just wanted to get the feeling back of scoring goals and winning games and that's what has happened this year.
"Long may it continue! We have two games to go, and we will give everything to try and lift another trophy."
Rashford made his first-team debut for the Red Devils in 2015, and he has now represented the club on 357 occasions, scoring 123 goals and registering 68 assists in the process.
The forward has already helped Man United win this season's EFL Cup, while he will be bidding to lead the club to FA Cup success in the final of the competition against Manchester City on June 3.
