Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag is reportedly keen to keep both Victor Lindelof and Scott McTominay this summer despite the recent speculation surrounding the duo.
Lindelof, 28, has dropped down the pecking order at Old Trafford following the arrival of Lisandro Martinez, featuring on just nine occasions in the Premier League this term.
The Sweden international has entered the final 18 months of his contract with the Red Devils, and both Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan are said to be keen on his signature this summer.
Speaking on international duty, Lindelof admitted that he will consider his future at the club at the end of the campaign, as he is determined to secure regular football at this stage of his career.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Ten Hag wants to keep hold of the centre-back, with the Dutchman viewing him as a valuable member of the squad.
Lindelof would likely have to accept being a bit-part player at Old Trafford if he remained, though, with Martinez and Raphael Varane both ahead of him in the pecking order.
Luke Shaw has also been used as a centre-back this season, while Harry Maguire is still the captain of the 20-time English champions despite his own struggles for regular action this term.
McTominay, meanwhile, has also dropped down the pecking order this season when it comes to a starting role, with the club signing both Casemiro and Christian Eriksen last summer.
Man United are believed to be looking to add another midfielder to their squad in the upcoming market, which has led to claims that the Scotland international could move on.
However, it is alleged that neither Ten Hag nor the club are looking to sell McTominay, with the academy product also viewed as an important member of the squad.
McTominay hit the headlines when he scored a brace for Scotland in their 2-0 win over Spain on Wednesday night, helping his country claim a huge victory in the Euro 2024 qualification match.
The 26-year-old has featured on 32 occasions in all competitions at club level this season, including 18 in the Premier League, while he has also played seven times in the Europa League.
McTominay has only started seven Premier League matches this term, though, with Eriksen, Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, Fred and arguably Marcel Sabitzer all ahead of him.
Newcastle United continue to be heavily linked with the Scot, while West Ham United have been credited with an interest in his services.
McTominay has featured on 202 occasions for Man United in all competitions, while he has a deal at Old Trafford until June 2025, with the option of an additional 12 months.
