Aston Villa goalkeeper Tom Heaton has agreed to join Manchester United this summer, according to a report.
The 35-year-old is out of contract at Aston Villa in the summer and has been tipped to move to Old Trafford in recent weeks, with Sergio Romero and Lee Grant both set to head for the exit door.
A recent report claimed that Man United were close to wrapping up a deal for Heaton, and according to Football Insider, the shot-stopper has verbally agreed to sign for the Red Devils.
David de Gea's future is also up in the air after the Spaniard lost his number one jersey to Dean Henderson, but the outlet claims that the Villa stopper would join as the Red Devils' third-choice goalkeeper behind De Gea and Henderson.
The report adds that Villa have offered Heaton a new contract to stay in the West Midlands, but a more lucrative deal has been tabled by Man United, who are keen to employ him as a player and coach for the club's up-and-coming goalkeepers.
Heaton made 20 Premier League appearances for Villa last season, but he has not played a single minute of top-flight football this term after recovering from a serious knee injury. body check tags ::
