Inter Milan have reportedly identified Bayern Munich goalkeeper Yann Sommer as a replacement for Manchester United target Andre Onana.
The Serie A outfit are currently in advanced talks with the Red Devils over the potential sale of Onana to the Premier League club and recently rejected an opening offer of £38.5m.
The Cameroonian shot-stopper is said to have made it clear that he wants to join Man United, who hope to reach a full agreement with Inter within the next 72 hours.
According to Sky Deutschland, Inter have 'informed' Bayern that they are interested in signing 34-year-old goalkeeper Sommer, who kept eight clean sheets in 25 games for the German giants last season.
The Switzerland international only joined the Bundesliga champions in January a month after first-choice goalkeeper Manuel Neuer broke his leg in a skiing accident, forcing him to miss the second half of the 2022-23 season.
Neuer had hoped to begin training next week, but his return is said to have been delayed, meaning that no final decision on Sommer's future can be made imminently.
Nevertheless, Bayern are understood to have identified Valencia's Giorgi Mamardashvili as a long-term target, and a move for the Georgian goalie could be intensified should Sommer be allowed to join Inter.
Over in the Premier League, Fulham and Crystal Palace are reportedly set to battle for the signature of Barcelona right-back Sergino Dest.
The 22-year-old spent last season on loan with AC Milan, but failed to make the desired impact with the Italian club and started just five games across all competitions.
Milan have opted against signing Dest permanently, while cash-strapped Barca are believed to be open to selling the USA international this summer to generate funds.
Reports in Spain say that English duo Fulham and Crystal Palace are both interested in Dest, who could be available for around £17m.
The report also adds that Man United, who were heavily linked with Dest last summer, may reignite their interest in the former Ajax defender.
The potential exit of Dest comes at a time when Barca are reportedly closing in on the signing of Real Valladolid's teenage right-back Ivan Fresneda.
Meanwhile, Roma are reportedly eyeing up a summer move to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Marcel Sabitzer.
The 29-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Manchester United, scoring three goals in 11 starts and seven substitute outings across all tournaments.
However, Sabitzer has returned to Bayern after the Red Devils opted against recruiting the Austrian on a permanent basis and the midfielder now faces an uncertain future at the Allianz Arena, where he is not guaranteed regular first-team football.
According to Calciomercato, Jose Mourinho's Roma are exploring the possibility of signing Sabitzer on loan for the 2023-24 campaign.
Mourinho is looking to strengthen his midfield options further having already completed the signing of Houssem Aouar from Lyon on a free transfer.
Sabitzer recently hinted at a potential move to Serie A by posting an Instagram story of himself on holiday with the caption in Italian: "Buongiorno" (Good morning). body check tags ::
