Atletico Madrid defender Kieran Trippier has reportedly told England teammates that he wants to join Manchester United during this summer's transfer window.

The 30-year-old enjoyed an impressive 2020-21 campaign for his La Liga club despite missing a period of the season due to a suspension and played a key role in their title success.

Man United have allegedly identified the England international as the ideal player to provide competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back next term.

A recent report claimed that Trippier had decided to snub interest from the 20-time English champions in order to remain at Wanda Metropolitano.

However, according to The Mirror, the defender has now told Three Lions colleagues that he is keen to move to Old Trafford after this summer's European Championships.

Trippier, who provided six assists in 28 La Liga appearances last season, still has two years left to run on his contract with Diego Simeone's side. body check tags ::
