Kieran Trippier has suggested that Burnley winger Dwight McNeil should remain at Turf Moor for the foreseeable future.
Having contributed two goals and five assists in the Premier League this season, the 20-year-old is being linked with a move to a bigger club.
However, despite alleged interest from Manchester United and Arsenal, former Clarets right-back Trippier has called on the youngster to remain patient.
Speaking to the Burnley Express, the Atletico Madrid defender said: "I'd say 'don't rush anything, just keep playing' and Dwight is at the right club to do that. He just needs to keep playing games, because that's the most important thing for somebody his age.
"He's got the right manager to guide him and he'll be in no rush to go anywhere. If I was him I'd stay put and keeping playing games."
Since breaking into the first-team squad, McNeil has made 53 starts and four substitute outings in all competitions.
