Chelsea could supposedly be handed a boost in their pursuit of RB Leipzig's Dayot Upamecano as Thomas Tuchel prepares to take over at Stamford Bridge.
Following the sacking of Frank Lampard on Monday morning, former Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund manager Tuchel is expected to take the reins by the end of the week.
Upamecano - one of the most sought-after defenders in world football - will be available for a modest figure of £38m this summer due to a clause in his Leipzig contract.
According to Bild, Tuchel's appointment at Chelsea could tempt the Frenchman into moving to the English capital, as the defender has heard good things about the 47-year-old's coaching from his France teammates.
However, Bayern Munich's interest in the defender is well-documented, while Liverpool and Manchester United are supposedly ready to fight in what is sure to be an intense battle for his signature.
Upamecano has already turned out 24 times for Leipzig in all competitions this term, scoring one goal and setting up another in the Bundesliga.
