Two rival agents are reportedly embroiled in a £20m dispute over Antony's move to Manchester United.

The 22-year-old completed a switch to Old Trafford on transfer deadline day, with the Red Devils paying Ajax a fee in the region of £85.5m to bring him to the club.

However, according to The Mirror, two agents are claiming that they played the biggest role in the transfer, which is causing a dispute worth £20m.

The report claims that the Forza Sports Group are convinced that they were key to the transfer, but Junior Pedroso, who represents Antony, is insisting that he was the driving force.

Ajax had been resisting a move late in the transfer window, with the Dutch champions desperate to keep hold of the South American, but they were forced into a sale once the player had gone public in his desire to leave.

"Since February of this year, my agents came to Amsterdam to inform Ajax of my desire to leave the club to face new challenge and that some interested clubs would arrive and with them, certainly a great offer," Antony told Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano in an exclusive interview.

"In June of this year, I interrupted my vacation and came personally to inform the managers of Ajax, including new coach, about my wish to leave and that they should consider this possibility, because it was a project for two seasons.

"During the window months, meetings continued and I also received a proposal from Ajax for contract renewal. I made it clear once again: I want to leave.

"Today, in a meeting with the club, I expressed my old interest in leaving, only this time with a considerable offer on the table. Others had already arrived! Ajax refused with argument that they only have five days to replace me."

Man United are believed to have had a £76m bid turned down before agreeing to pay almost £10m more for the former Sao Paulo youngster.

Antony started the 2022-23 campaign in strong form for Ajax, scoring twice and providing two assists in three appearances, including one goal and two assists in two league fixtures.

Meanwhile, he departed the Dutch champions with a record of 24 goals and 22 assists in 82 appearances following his move from Sao Paulo in July 2020.

Antony has been named in the starting XI for Man United's 2022-23 Premier League clash with Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

The Brazilian will seemingly operate on the right of a front three, with Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford also featuring in the final third of the field.

Antony, who is bidding to make the Selecao squad for the 2022 World Cup, has penned a deal at Old Trafford until June 2027, with the option of an additional 12 months.
