Manchester United will reportedly assess the futures of at least four first-team players once this summer's transfer window has closed for business.

The Red Devils are currently focusing on player exits and incomings, while a new contract for head coach Erik ten Hag is soon expected to be announced.

However, according to the Manchester Evening News, once the summer market has closed, the 20-time English champions will assess the futures of four first-team players.

The report claims that Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire, who are both out of contract next year, are likely to have an additional 12 months activated in their deals.

The duo were linked with exits last summer, with West Ham United said to have had a £30m bid accepted for Maguire, only for the centre-back to turn down the chance to leave.

McTominay, Maguire 'could have contracts extended'

Meanwhile, West Ham head coach David Moyes recently confirmed that he wanted to bring McTominay to London Stadium last summer.

Maguire had his injury problems during the 2023-24 campaign but ended up making 31 appearances in all competitions, and he could now be in line for a contract extension until June 2026.

McTominay also had a productive season despite the team's struggles, managing 11 goals and three assists in 46 appearances in all competitions.

Amad Diallo, meanwhile, is also out of contract next year, but the Ivory Coast international could have another 12 months activated to take him until June 2026.

The 21-year-old ended last season with two goals and one assist in 12 appearances for the Red Devils, and he featured in each of the team's final seven league games of the campaign.

Fernandes 'could receive new contract'

Meanwhile, Bruno Fernandes could allegedly be in line for a new contract at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils captain has been linked with a move away from Man United this summer, with Bayern Munich thought to be keen, while clubs from Saudi Pro League are said to be keeping a close eye on his situation.

However, if Fernandes does stay at the club, which looks likely at this stage, the Portugal international could allegedly be in line for a new and improved contract.

The 29-year-old was again a vital player for Man United during the 2023-24 campaign, making 50 appearances in all competitions, contributing 16 goals and 13 assists in the process.

Fernandes is currently turning out for Portugal at Euro 2024, but Maguire was not fit enough to represent England at the tournament, while McTominay's Scotland side have been knocked out in the group stage. body check tags ::
