Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Nottingham Forest midfielder Danilo before this summer's transfer window closes for business.
The Red Devils have brought four new players to Old Trafford during the current market, with Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui arriving to boost the squad.
However, the 20-time English champions are expected to bring in a new central midfielder before the window closes, with their top target believed to be Paris Saint-Germain's Manuel Ugarte.
A deal for the Uruguay international is complicated, though, with PSG not believed to be willing to drop their £51m asking price, so Man United are looking at alternative options available this summer.
Burnley's Sander Berge, Real Sociedad's Martin Zubimendi and Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong are among the midfielders being linked with moves to the 20-time English champions.
Man United 'keen' on Forest midfielder Danilo
According to TNT Sports, Forest's Danilo has also emerged as an option, with the Reds believed to be willing to let the 23-year-old leave for the right price this summer.
The report claims that AC Milan are also keen on the Brazilian, who is valued at €28m (£24m) by transfermarkt, and it is possible that he could leave before the transfer window closes.
Danilo made the move to the City Ground from Palmeiras in January 2023, and he has represented his current side on 49 occasions, scoring six goals and registering six assists in the process.
Last season, the midfielder scored three goals and registered two assists in 34 appearances in all competitions, including two goals and two assists in 29 Premier League appearances.
Would Danilo be a good signing for Man United?
As it stands, it seems likely that Casemiro will stay at Man United this summer despite the speculation surrounding his future, while Scott McTominay is also, as it stands, set to remain at Old Trafford.
The club are still determined to bring in another midfielder to play alongside Kobbie Mainoo, though, and Danilo has shown his class in the Premier League since arriving from Brazilian football.
Danilo has played as an attacking midfielder, central midfielder and holding midfielder during his time at Forest, but Man United need a specialist in the defensive role.
Ugarte remains the leading target, and the club are still believed to be hopeful that a deal can be agreed before the end of the window.
Danilo is an interesting alternative for the 20-time English champions, and if a fair price could be agreed for the South American, then he could be a clever signing by the Red Devils.
