Manchester United are reportedly ready to launch a £30m bid for Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane.
The French international has been unable to guarantee a regular starting place with Los Blacnos due to the form of Pepe and Sergio Ramos.
According to the Daily Star, Varane's future at the Bernabeu is in doubt as Real coach Carlo Ancelotti is willing to offer Pepe a new contract.
It is thought that the Red Devils believe that they have a chance of landing the 21-year-old and will offer £30m to try to seal the deal.
While Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly interested, Varane is said to be unsure whether a move to Stamford Bridge, where he would be competing with John Terry, Gary Cahill and Kurt Zouma for a place, will help his career.
