Manchester United are readying an £8m bid for Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama before the transfer window closes, according to reports.
The Kenyan has been linked with a move away from the SPL side over the past few weeks, with several Premier League clubs thought to be interested in signing him.
However, after they were priced out of a move for PSV Eindhoven's Kevin Strootman, United look favourites to acquire the services of the 21-year-old, with manager Sir Alex Ferguson having watched him in action last week.
Wanyama looks even more likely to leave Celtic Park after the Kenyan FA claimed that he will join "one of the big two clubs in the world" earlier this week.
The player arrived at Celtic from Belgian side Germinal Beerschot in 2011.
