Manchester United caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will reportedly hold talks with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward next week over a possible move for Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic.
Solskjaer confirmed after United's FA Cup third-round win over Reading that he will have a small say in transfer matters during his remaining four months at Old Trafford.
First up for Solskjaer, according to The Sun, is to decide whether Milenkovic would be a good fit for the Red Devils.
Ex-United boss Jose Mourinho watched the Serbia international up close earlier in the season and club scouts have been in attendance for a number of Fiorentina's matches in recent months.
The report indicates that Solskjaer and Woodward will meet up in the coming days and discuss a possible £45m bid for the 21-year-old, who can also fill in at right-back.
A number of other sides are believed to hold an interest in Milenkovic, with Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Juventus among them, but United are at the front of the queue.
