Manchester United reportedly intend to push ahead with plans to land PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn as a replacement for flop signing Alexis Sanchez.
The Netherlands international is understood to have been scouted by United in recent weeks, while domestic rivals Liverpool are also rumoured to have shown an interest.
Having run the rule over the 21-year-old in PSV's defeat to Inter Milan, Dutch outlet De Telegraaf suggests that the Red Devils will now hone in on the young talent.
United are said to be keen on finding a goalscoring wideman in the mould of Bergwijn, who has four goals and five assists to his name in the Eredivisie this term, as Sanchez has failed to make any impact since arriving from Arsenal in January.
Jose Mourinho once again hinted after his side's 1-0 loss to Juventus on Tuesday night that he is unhappy with his lack of financial backing.
