Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane has revealed that Manchester United are interested in taking him to Old Trafford.
With manager Jose Mourinho having worked with Varane at the Bernabeu, the French international has frequently been linked with a switch to the Premier League giants since the Portuguese's arrival in 2016.
Varane remains a regular at Real and the Spanish outfit are unlikely to be willing to part ways with the versatile defender, but the 24-year-old has acknowledged that there has been contact in relation to his signature.
After being quizzed on any approach from United, the player told El Larguero: "No, not directly. There were contacts, but not directly."
Earlier this season, Varane penned a new long-term deal with Real, with his contract now not expiring until 2022.
Varane has made 27 starts in all competitions during the current campaign.
