Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly have little intention of selling star winger Pedro Neto in January, amid interest from Arsenal.

The 23-year-old moved to Molineux from Lazio in the summer of 2019 and has since made 122 appearances for the West Midlands club across all competitions, scoring 12 goals and providing 22 assists.

Neto made a strong start to the 2023-24 campaign and quicky established himself as a key player for head coach Gary O'Neil, scoring once and providing seven assists in 10 Premier League matches before picking up a hamstring injury in October.

The Portuguese made his long-awaited comeback from injury as a late substitute in Wolves' 3-0 win over Everton last weekend, and the winger is keen to win back his place in the starting lineup.

Neto's early season form is understood to have caught the attention of title hopefuls Arsenal, who have been closely monitoring the winger for some time.

However, according to The Mirror, Wolves do not intend to part ways with Neto during the January transfer window.

Neto, who has also been linked with Manchester United, is under contract at Molineux until the summer of 2027 and he is believed to be valued by Wolves in excess of £50m.

O'Neil has admitted that Wolves face a difficult January window as they continue working within the constraints of Financial Fair Play, and the club will be required to sell players to balance their books before they can bring in reinforcements.

"January is a tough month to do transfers. Not many teams want to lose their better players or any in January. It's a tricky market," O'Neil said at a press conference ahead of Friday's FA Cup third-round clash with Brentford.

"The financial restrictions we faced in the summer are still firmly in place. We're working hard to improve the group but within a tough January and the financial restrictions.

"It's not a surprise to me, I understand it and have zero complaints about it. It'll be tough to improve this group.

"On the question of outs before ins, probably. If we can do that it may help us with things coming in. That'll be pretty much how the month unfolds. We've coped well so far. The full focus is on what we have and what we're trying to be."

Neto is not the only attacker said to be on Arsenal's radar, as they have also been heavily linked with a big-money move for Brentford striker Ivan Toney.

However, the Gunners have seemingly been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Toney, as Bees boss Thomas Frank has played down suggestions that the Englishman could leave the club in January. body check tags ::
