Manchester United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward will reportedly depart the club's pre-season tour of the USA in the near future.
Woodward arrived in Los Angeles with the playing squad and coaching staff on Friday, but having spent the weekend in Western America, he will shortly return to Manchester, according to the Manchester Evening News.
As a result, speculation is rife that he is to make the trip back to England to conclude some transfer business.
United have been strongly linked with Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal in recent weeks, as well as Mats Hummels, Thomas Vermaelen, Daley Blind and Stefan De Vrij.
During a recent interview with MUTV, Woodward admitted that talks had taken place with a number of targets.
