Barcelona allegedly remain in the race to sign Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, despite Xavi not being keen on the transfer.
With just over seven months remaining on his contract at Old Trafford, the 28-year-old is being linked with a number of high-profile clubs around Europe.
While the likes of Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain have been regarded as the frontrunners in the past, Barcelona are taking an interest in the World Cup winner given his potential status as a free agent.
However, according to El Nacional, Xavi's preference is for club officials to scrap any move for the playmaker over the coming months.
The newly-appointed boss is said to be happy with his midfield options at Camp Nou and would rather not have to accommodate Pogba in his plans.
United are said to have accepted that they will not be able to agree a new contract with the player.
