Martin Zubimendi has reaffirmed his commitment to Real Sociedad amid fresh speculation surrounding his future.

The Spain international was heavily linked with a move away from Real Sociedad over the summer, with Liverpool believed to have made a firm attempt to secure his services.

However, Zubimendi turned down the chance to join Arne Slot's side in order to remain with his La Liga club, with the central midfielder not prepared to depart the side that he has represented since 2011.

There is again speculation surrounding the 25-year-old's future, with Manchester City said to be interested in signing him after losing Rodri for the remainder of the season with a serious knee injury.

However, speaking on international duty, Zubimendi said that he 'wants to continue' with Imanol Alguacil's team, with the midfielder suggesting that, like over the summer, he is not interested in a departure.

Zubimendi says he 'wants to continue' at Man City

"Real Sociedad is a big part of my life. Part of who I am as a person is also thanks to them. I think that the values the club has are within me and well, I want to continue. I arrived at the reserve team when I was 18 years old and Imanol was already there, so the transition from the reserve team to the first team made it much easier for me," he told reporters.

"Today I can say that he is the coach who has marked me the most, he knows me very well."

Zubimendi scored the winner for Spain in their 1-0 success over Denmark in the UEFA Nations League on Saturday night, with the midfielder finding the back of the net with a volley from outside the box.

The Real Sociedad academy product has again been a key player at club level this season, meanwhile, making 10 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal in the process.

In total, the midfielder has represented his Basque side on 198 occasions in all competitions, scoring nine goals and registering seven assists.

Which other clubs are keen on Zubimendi?

Barcelona are also long-term admirers of Zubimendi, while Manchester United, Arsenal and Real Madrid are also believed to have the midfielder on their radar for the future.

Zubimendi is showing loyalty to Real Sociedad at this moment in time, but it will surely not be too long before he makes the move to an elite club considering his credentials.

At 25, the midfielder has a lot of football ahead of him, and he is developing into a brilliant player, so it would not be a surprise to see him depart for a big fee during next summer's transfer window.
