Speculation over the future of Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has been rife for a number of months now, with the much-publicised end date of the Chilean's contract drawing ever closer.

Last summer it appeared as though Manchester City were closing in on their man, but a more lucrative offer from Manchester United is now understood to have swung the race for his signature in their favour.

Premier League champions Chelsea have also been linked with a late attempt to hijack the bid, and it looks increasingly likely that Sanchez will be playing his football away from the Emirates Stadium by February 1.
