Marseille goalscorer Jordan Ayew has said that he is happy to have secured a point from this afternoon's Ligue 1 clash away to Rennes.
The home side had a chance to take the lead with just over 15 minutes remaining, when Kassim Abdallah tripped Foued Kadir inside the area and Nelson Oliveira stepped up to take it.
However, he could not score his second of the game as he saw his low effort kept out by Steve Mandanda.
"This point is excellent for the morale, especially since we could have left here with another defeat, were it not for another great save from Steve Mandanda with the penalty from Nelson Oliveira," the Ghana international told reporters.
"We can't ask for too much because we did last week against Reims and in the end we lost the match. To get a point away to a team like Rennes is a very good result.
"We need to continue in this direction, we're on the right track. Now we have to keep working hard so that this becomes the first result in a new positive run."
The result means that Les Phoceens are fifth in the league.
