Elie Baup has admitted that he is happy with a point against Rennes following Marseille's recent terrible run of form.
Jordan Ayew netted an equaliser for Les Phoceens after a Nelson Oliveira opener as they picked up a 1-1 draw at Stade de la Route de Lorient on Saturday to end their five-match losing streak across all competitions.
"We've stopped the rot," manager Baup told reporters. "There is still a lot of work to do, but at times like these, after three defeats in the league, against a quality opponent like Rennes who have just put in a super display and started the game brilliantly, to take a point is good to allow us to continue to work.
"It's going to do us a lot of good. Against Reims, we also had a point and it was a huge blow to concede a third goal when we deserved to share the spoils or even win.
"When times are hard, you have to get out of them as best you can, and taking a point is promising."
Marseille, who sit fifth in Ligue 1, travel to Napoli in the Champions League on Wednesday.
