Marseille head coach Marcelo Bielsa has claimed that owner Margarita Louis-Dreyfus wants him to stay at the club beyond the end of the current season.
There have been suggestions that the Argentine will leave the club in the summer due to a termination clause in his contract, and he has been linked with a switch to West Ham United, who are reported to be considering parting ways with Sam Allardyce.
However, Bielsa has hinted that he could continue in his role at Marseille, despite revealing that there have been no talks about a new deal.
"She told me she wants me to continue here. She told me something that I really enjoyed - that she loved what I was doing on a human level, in my attitude and the way I lead the squad," he told reporters.
"I shall try to live up to Margarita Louis-Dreyfus's high praise, I would dearly love to finish the season second or third.
"Asking me not to leave is not the same as offering me a new contract. We coaches know and understand that when we fail to achieve our objectives there is a price to pay."
Marseille are currently fourth in Ligue 1.
