Marseille have defeated Montpellier HSC 2-0 in their Ligue 1 meeting at the Stade Velodrome this evening.
Florian Thauvin had an early chance to give the home side the lead, but Geoffrey Jourdren did well to save his close-range effort.
In the 36th minute, Thauvin put Marseille ahead, when he capitalised on a mistake by Daniel Congre to slot home from inside the box.
The hosts continued to dominate the game and in the second half Andre-Pierre Gignac forced Jourdren into a save from his long-range strike.
Substitute Saber Khalifa sealed the win for Marseille in the last minute of stoppage time, when he placed a low effort into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
