Marseille striker Andre-Pierre Gignac has quelled suggestions that he could join Newcastle United this summer.
The 27-year-old, who has been linked with a number of European clubs since the end of last season, has insisted that he has "never wanted to leave" the Ligue 1 side.
"You think I would say, having turned the tide, that I'm going? You don't know me well. I have never wanted to leave," Gignac told L'Equipe.
Gignac scored 18 goals in all competitions last season.
