MK Dons boss Karl Robinson is refusing to blame his players for a "freak result" in losing to relegation-threatened Coventry City.
The Sky Blues raced into a two-goal lead thanks to goals from Chris Stokes and Dominic Samuel and, despite a second-half strike from Daniel Powell, the Buckinghamshire club slumped to a 2-1 defeat.
However, Robinson believes his team dominated large parts of the game at the Ricoh Arena.
He is quoted by MK Web as saying: "Their manager didn't know what to say and I'm so proud of the players. If we play like that every week then we go up and today is 100 per cent a freak result.
"There were two or three mistakes in the first goal and it was a small error for their second goal, but after that they didn't have another shot at goal.
"My players were magnificent and I said to the players that winners accept these games out of frustration, not because we like them, but we accept them."
The Dons are now eight points behind League One leaders Bristol City, but remain in second place after Swindon Town failed to beat Crewe Alexandra.
