Marko Arnautovic and Marcel Sabitzer strike at the death to earn Austria a 3-2 comeback win over Montenegro to end the home side's hopes of qualifying for Euro 2016.

Two late goals from Marko Arnautovic and Marcel Sabitzer have ended Montenegro's hopes of qualifying for Euro 2016 as they secured a 3-2 comeback win for Austria in their clash at Stadion Pod Goricom.

The home side took the lead in the 32nd minute when Mirko Vucinic managed to control the ball in the box by lifting it over his marker before slotting his effort past Robert Almer.

Montenegro almost doubled their advantage when the Swiss defence allowed Fatos Beqiraj to run at goal and then strike from the edge of the box, but Almer made a solid stop to deny the forward.

The hosts maintained their pressure and Stefan Savic managed to latch on to a loose ball in the box, but he could not steer his effort from close range into the net.

In the second half, Austria levelled the scores when Marc Janko converted the ball from one yard out after he latched on to a low ball across the face of goal from Martin Harnik.

The visitors almost took the lead when Arnautovic drilled a strike towards the top corner, but Vukasin Poleksic was able to turn the ball behind for a corner.

Montenegro regained the advantage as Austria failed to clear their lines from a corner and Beqiraj controlled the ball before firing a left-footed strike into the bottom corner.

However, there was to be a twist in the tale as Arnautovic raided across the box before firing a low strike beyond the reach of Poleksic into the bottom corner.

Montenegro were reduced to 10 men as Vucinic was booked for a second time in the match for dissent and was given his marching orders in the 87th minute.

Austria secured the win in the dying seconds to end the home side's chances of reaching the tournament in France, as Sabitzer pounced on a loose ball in the six-yard box and found the net.
