Montpellier defender Cyril Jeunechamp's year-long ban from football for assaulting a journalist has been reduced to six month.
The 37-year-old was handed the ban for punching a L'Equipe journalist in the face after his side's 1-1 away draw against Valenciennes in Ligue 1 on November 17.
Jeunechamp appealed against the punishment through the French Football Federation's Appeal Commission, with Montpellier also apologising to the journalist and criticising the defender for his action.
The reduction of the ban means that Jeunechamp will now be available for Montpellier for their final league game of the season against Toulouse on May 26.
