Montpellier HSC goalkeeper Geoffrey Jourden was overjoyed after the club were crowned French champions for the first time in their history.
A 2-1 win away at Auxerre kept Rene Girard's men three points ahead of Paris Saint Germain in the Ligue 1 table.
It was far from plain sailing for Montpellier as they fell behind in the match, which had to be halted twice because of protests from the Auxerre supporters.
"It's indescribable," Jourden told RMC Sport. "It's the culmination of a great season. [What] waits for us at Montepellier is enormous.
"It was complicated, the match was interrupted. I understand the Auxerre fans. We had to stay focused and it wasn't easy. Now there will be a month of a holidays."
Montpellier finished on 82 points and had the joint-best defensive record in the division.
