Wycombe Wanderers striker Garry Thompson has insisted that he will not let sentiment get the better of him when he returns to Morecambe.
The 34-year-old, who joined Wanderers this summer, previously spent nine years at the Shrimps earlier in his career.
Thompson is expected to play a part at the Globe Arena on Tuesday evening, but he insists that picking up all three points for his new side is all that counts.
"It's a nice game for my friends and family but for me, it's all about the result," he told the Chairboys' official website. "It's my first time back at Morecambe as a player.
"I was injured when we went there with Bradford, and it'll be the first time I've played at the Globe Arena because their home ground was Christie Park when I was there. Sentiment goes out the window when I get there and hopefully we can get the right result."
Thompson opened his Wycombe account on the weekend by scoring twice in the 2-0 win over Barnet.
